Cross Country teams participated in Great Lakes Regional on Saturday

On Saturday afternoon, the Alma College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams participated in the Great Lakes Regional meet hosted by Anderson, Ind. The Scots' women's team finished ninth out of 33 teams, while the men were 21st out of 37 participating teams.

The women were led by Sr. Julie Helm (Saint Joseph, Mich./Saint Joseph) who came in 28th (out of 234 runners) with a 6K time of 22:40.74, while Jr. Anna Sall (Holland, Mich./Hamilton) was next at 35th place at 22:53.73.

For the men, Alma was paced by Sr. Garrett Lacy (Carson City, Mich./Carson City) who came in 20th out of 256 competitors with a time of 25:46.47. Next across the line for the Scots was Fr. Adam Sanchez (Alma, Mich./Alma) at 54th place in the 8K event with a mark of 26:24.60.

Meanwhile, the Calvin men and the Hope women continued the tradition of strong performances by MIAA teams in NCAA Division III cross country by capturing Great Lakes regional titles.
