Women's Golf in 7th Place after first day of MIAA Championships
The MIAA women's golf championship will be decided this weekend with a season-ending two-day, 36-hole tournament at Bedford Valley Country Club near Battle Creek.
The first 18-hole round will took place at 1 p.m. Friday, with the second round to be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The scores from these rounds will be added to the results of the four MIAA Jamborees that have been played so far to determine the league champion.
Olivet, which has won three of the four Jamborees this season, leads the MIAA season standings by 28 strokes over Hope and 30 over Saint Mary's.
After day one, the Scots find themselves in seventh place with a team score of 391. Jr. Chelsea Erb (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) is pacing Alma with a score of 85, good for a tie for 11th place after the first 18 holes of the competition.
