The Alma College Men's Golf team competed on Saturday in the MIAA Jamboree #2 hosted by Adrian College. The Scots finished seventh overall after shooting a 310, while Calvin College won the event by notching a score of 295.
"We played some good golf today in perfect conditions," said Alma Head Coach Charlie Goffnett. "It was unfortunate that we left some pretty low scores on the table. Marty and Greg were not happy with the way they played so that should be good motivation for next week. It was great to see Jake come out strong with a 36 on the front nine and that bodes well for the future. We will continue to get better as we move forward."
Sr. Greg Silverthorn (Shepherd, Mich./Shepherd) paced the Scots on Saturday with a score of 74 (tied for sixth) and was closely followed by So. Marty Predmesky (Graham, N.C./Graham), who had a 75 (tied for 10th). Jr. Jake Moran (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) was next for Alma at 77.
The Scots next compete in the MIAA Jamboree #3 on Wednesday, hosted by Olivet College.
